Birth Matters

"Whenever and however you give birth, your experience will impact your emotions, your mind, your body, and your spirit for the rest of your life."    - Ina May Gaskin

Meet Katie

Hello! My name is Katie Schram and I am a Childbirth International (CBI) Certified Birth Doula.

It is an honor to support women throughout their pregnancy and birth. All women deserve a strong support system.

At Peaceful Doula, my role is to offer you evidence based information so you can make informed choices along the way. I want you to feel empowered by your birth experience, whatever that looks like. I support all births, and all birth settings.

I serve clients in the Twin Cities metro area, including Minneapolis, Robbinsdale, New Hope, Golden Valley, Crystal, St. Louis Park, Maple Grove, and other West Metro cities.

Whenever and however you give birth, your experience will impact your emotions, your mind, your body, and your spirit for the rest of your life.

What does a doula do?

What is a Doula?

A doula is a person who is trained to provide information about pregnancy, help you prepare for birth, and provide support to your family before, during, and immediately after birth.

The role of a Doula

My job is to support you in your birth preferences. I am happy to provide you with evidence based resources and will encourage you to advocate for yourself and your preferences.

I will support you throughout the birth process, in whatever way that looks like for you. I am happy to offer suggestions and give you choices.

What a Doula
does not do

As a doula, I will not perform any clinical tasks.

I cannot make decisions for your or speak to the staff on your behalf, but I can empower you to do this.
